I bought the 26" version about a month ago and I'm happy with what I got for the money. This is my first LCD tv. The sound quality is not hifi, but for someone with tinnitus like myself there is enough clarity of sound for me not to have to turn the volume up too much to catch all that's going on. The picture quality is above average and the colours look natural. The beauty of the design is its simplicity, which I found carried over to setting up the tv and the on screen instructions. HTH

If your current set is serviceable, you might want to just get a cheap freeview box in the short term and hang on a little while until sets which have built in Freeview HD become available. AIUI if you want the HD version you'll need a set top box as the current decoders are not compatible and not upgradable.

I'm waiting before buying a new TV, as there been so many new developments recently, I'm waiting for prices of the HD TVs to start coming down to realistic levels. In the mean time my massive Sony 28" CRT TV will do me fine, plus it's only 6 years old - plenty of life in it yet!

We currently have a massive CRT with we need to get rid of to make room. The Samsung has got a freeview tuner built in and we should be switched on at the start of november, i'm not really bothered about HD so that's not a worry. The sound isn't really an issue as I run DVD's through my Hi-Fi.

 

Cheers for the input all I think I might go ahead and buy it. :D

ive got this TV for gaming on and its really good, i used it for my main TV when my other was being repaired.

 

if your looking to buy any TV i'd look at John Lewis for their free 5 yr warranty :)

Agree on the John Lewis, helped a friend find a TV, was £15 more with John Lewis but has the 5 year warranty! The firm they were going to get wanted £130 for the same warranty! So well worth going to John Lewis :)

Nooo Samsungs although they look good. The buttons on the tv and remote will get on your nerves so fast! They just lack any ergonomics!

I have no issues with them and I've got a Samsung TV and have had for 3 years and sorted a few mates out so they are fine, anyway with Cookie Monster being a gadget king he will have a Pronto Pro or Logitech Harmony remote anyway ;)

I like my 32" Sense TV and can't fault it.

 

If I was going to buy again I would look at this:

or this

Foehn & Hirsch 32" HD Ready Widescreen LCD TV Freeview 450cd/m2 3000:1 8ms HDMIx3/VGA/Scart X 2 Glossy Black 3 Years Warranty - Ebuyer but I can't vouche for this one.

 

I think it's only the newer Samsung HD LCD's that have the lack lustre buttons(you can't actually press them, you have to stroke it in the right way for it to work), unless they have seen sense (haha gedit?) and changed it back to proper buttons.

I would love HD on my TV, tired of standard freeview, i wanna see the dust on tables :(

 

Too bad Freesat only has 2 HD channels! Pretty pants would get sky but money be lacking :(
