Personal Domain Registration

Hi all

 

I was wondering if anybody could recommend a decent company for both registering a domain name, and providing some basic DNS services.

 

I have always used 1&1 in the past, but their service is degrading rapidly and I am trying to pull all of my business away from them.

 

All I need to do is register a basic .co.uk website, and have a mail forwarder to forward all mail sent to [email protected] to one of my e-mail addresses. I don't need to be able to reply with the .co.uk e-mail address. My gmail account will do fine for this.

I use dyndns.com most of the time or streamline.net, both very good!!

I use DYNDNS for other things but can it forward my registered domain to an IP address? i.e. NOT one of the DYNDNS .bounceme.net or similar.

 

I forgot to mention in my first post that I don't want to have to pay for any hosting. I will be looking after that myself, I just need to register a domain and have it pointed at my own server.

Supanames.com - used them a few times, or 123-reg.co.uk - they're good and cheap too..

yes, i use dyndns to get the domain name and then point at my own server using the customdns service (as i haven't got a static ip) If you have got a static it's dead easy
