Little-Miss Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Now my biggest gripe at school is the lack of staff ID. I know there are the ID card printers out there but its not part of our schools priority at the moment. Now i know some of you out there have these printers....would any of you be willing to print ours for us (obviously at a price), some basic ones until we get ourselves sorted. If not does anyone know of an external company that do this? Thanks (you dont know unless you ask!)

Payne Security, leaders in Brand Protection, Document Authentication and Personal ID That's who we bought our stuff from, and they do a printing service too. 1

EduTech Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Speak to me later when i am online should be able to help you out there I am just in the process of doing all our staff ID cards, the photo's are actually been taken on wednesday. when i do these over the next 2 weeks i should be able to do some for you we have just brought all of the printing materials and i have alot of plastic cards that i used for testing the design to print you some off. obviously you wont need the paxton access cards that we have so these plastic cards will be perfect for what you need. I can create the design for you and the you can just give me a list of names and photo's (if you need photo's) and i can print them off for you. James. 1

We have a paxton access system in our school, and about half the staff stick em in their wallets, pockets, bags etc... The wallets are great, as they bend the cards and break the internals of the card. You'll also have to put up with the wonderful world of 'staff washing their cards', 'staff losing their cards' and my favourite 'staff giving their all areas access, with access to rooms containing money and pupil data, to kids so they can go get something for them'...

p858snake Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Just a hint: don't just get lanyards, get the plastic pockets and some of the different clips for the pockets and badge holders, not everyone likes to have stuff around their neck. Also with the lanyards, make sure you get the ones with the plastic bits that came apart when pulled on or caught on something for health and safety reasons. A example of the alternative holder/clips i'm talking about is ThinkGeek :: Badge Holders (i don't know what most places call them and i knew thinkgeek had them) which can clip onto belts,shirts,pockets, everywhere inbetween.

The clips are good for those style-conscious staff (yes, there are some nowadays, unlike when I was at school!) who want to put them discretely on their belts / clip them on their trouser pockets. We have hell's delight getting staff to wear them... and I can't say I'm too keen, myself. Health and Safety? Too right. I'm a Tech teacher in the workshops most of the day. Enough said. I asked if I could have mine on my bag as I keep it with me all day. The school seems OK with that.

Yes, I have tried several, Even in most places your still forbidden to wear them in industrial settings [Tech Classrooms] because they present a undue danger to the wearer

There is no undue danger. They have a break away of a few lbs of force. ie. every one I have ever seen comes apart with barely a tug.
