Well, I've been off work since the 2nd week of term now because my wife's waters broke 5 weeks early. After a torrid week of scares and rushing to and from hospital, I am delighted to announce that my wife finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Monday morning. She arrived 4 weeks ahead of schedule and weighed in at 4.8lbs. Both mother and baby are resting in hospital for a few days whilst the docs monitor the baby's growth. Hopefully they should be discharged today if all is OK!

27 years old and now father of 2, getting old too fast! :p

Congratulations. Take lots of photos. They change a lot in their first few weeks. 27 is not old. I was 34 when the wife had our first and 37 for the second.

Congratulations! You're not getting old too fast, but your daughter will.

I find it scarey that my 2 are now studying for GCSEs and A Levels. It's all happened too quick! It seems no time at all since they were new arrivals!

We started photo albums (the kind you can add pages to) for both ours when they were born and add 3 or 4 photos every year. They start with the antenatal scan pictures, the little hospital bracelets and cot cards are in too. The kids love going through them, even now, to see themselves growing up. (Although Dad did threaten to show one to the daughter's boyfriend after she'd been particularly horrible at home recently!)

Congrats mate, all the best to you and your growing family :)

(I wondered why I'd not had you on the phone recently... more important issues than web filters, clearly!)

Congratulations! How old is the other one? Are you looking after he/she whilst your wife is in hospital with the new addition? And what is the new addition to be called?

I have three, with 2 years one month and one day between the first two, and 2 years one month and two days between the second and third. Nothing if not consistent!

The first years once you have more than one really fly by - and at 27 I think you are quite young to have a family.

Mine are now nearly 17, nearly 19 and 21 next week. I wouldn't have missed having them for the world...:)

Thanks for all the replies guys!

It's funny how you didn't think the reason I hadn't called was because we haven't had any issues! Or am I supposed to be finding new problems for you on a regular basis? :D
