Here there is two of us, 1400 kids 200 staff, just under 500 computers plus all the other bits and bobs, and it gets a little bit hectic sometimes!!

 

but toby does the work of 3 men, so where alright!

IMO you don't need more than 1 tech per 250-300 comps. Though that depends on how well run the network is and what other duties may be required e.g. Website/Intranet/VLE

We are 2 staff (me NM and 1 tech) to about 220 PCs, 10 servers, about 40 data projectors, 10 Interactive Boards, VLE and Website to manage, 50 staff laptops, piles of printers. We look after a great many things. PCs range in age from new last month to 6 years or so old.
