Strange names?

Hi,

 

I have just had to phone Samsung and i was looking for a guy called Dickie Baird. I had to ask the receptionist to put me through. I was ready to laugh at any minute luckily i kept my cool.

 

What other name odd names have you come across in real life?

I don't know about odd but the catering school meal service at our LEA is I think run by a Mrs Cook

at the primaries i go to there is a few princesses and other kids which if they were in a class together could be the fruit and veg aisle in a supermarket.

I have known 3 guys called Richard Bird (Dickie Bird, geddit?) over the years.

Looking at the credits of something on TV the other night and was suprised to see a Kat Fish listed.

One of the producers at Radio 4 is a Jo King

Joe King, Richard Head (dick head), Phillip McRakkin (people called him phil), Benjamin (Ben) Dover....the rest of us had sane parents!

Dicken Minta (Televic) has the finest and most memorable name of any salesman I've ever spoken to. I also quite like Rachel Bravo (Bluebeam Security), but only because I envisage her as the sister of Johnny Bravo.

Teacher's names mispronounced by the small ones have resulted in Mrs Apron (Miss Aikman) and Mrs Prawn (Mrs Vaughan)

I'm sure I heard a joke once about a "Phil McRakkin" and a "Ben Dover" - something to do with Scottish dentists?!

 

How privileged you must have been to go to school with all those people with funny names. So many for one person, yet I know no-one with a daft name like that.

Had a flight a couple of years back with "Captain Miles Long". Maybe the parents were cruel with the name, but he chose the career!

I like the last sentence:

There's a BOOK you can buy dedicated to silly names people have, place names too...

 

I've started using joke names as test accounts now...

 

The queries I had re: "Arthur Sleep" were amusing to say the least... given than 6 out of the 9 people who asked didn't realise what they'd just said...

 

Nobody queried Dixie Normous or Hugh Jazz yet though
