Hightower Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Morning folks, Had two weeks off and came in this morning to find our Moodle installation is not working. Restored it from a known working backup but still nothing. We can load Webmin and PHPMyAdmin through their web interfaces on the same server fine - it just times out when we try to load the Moodle interface. Can anybody suggest where to start looking for this please? Thanks,
apoth0r Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 The config file isn't loading properly, thus causing time outs? Check it against a backup to ensure things are pointing where it should be.
Hightower Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 I've restored the full box from a backup - still nothing?
apoth0r Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Has the DNS somehow knocked itself off for redirecting to the appropriate server/ip address? That's about the only major techie problem we've had with ours Sorry if I'm not much help
Hightower Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 I don't think so because: moodle . school . com : 10000 loads fine for Webmin, wheras moodle . school . com doesn't load the Moodle interface - it just times out.
Hightower Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 UPDATE: Can somebody ping moodle.tanfieldschool.co.uk - I think it looks like a problem with our external interface.
Hightower Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 I get a reply - 78.129.134.30 Me too - I can ping it How odd That's not the IP I would have expected - maybe they are working on it now in an attempt to fix it.

budgester Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Assuming you have tested / checked the following. Access the pages using a browser on the local machine, if command line only try links. Check the apache/webserver log files.
