I used to use 3 many moons ago to monitor our library computers. I seem to recall 3 had a slideshow function (launched via a seperate .exe?) that displayed all the screens of the connected stations. Does such a function exist in 4?

Gatt Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 It's part of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (previously System Management Server 2003 (aka SMS) if you have a VL then you should have it..
Don__1 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 It was and still is called Slideshow2.exe and was a free extra for users who contributed to the runnings cost of MST software via a donation. Best ask on the MST web site if it is still available.

mattpant Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Hi Folks... Thank you Kevin for getting LanView 4 (and MST) back on track! It's a great program! I have updated my machines so they are running LanView4 Client, along with LanView 4 Server on my machine... and remote desktop viewing (and controlling) with UltraVNC is working fine. I did donate and was given access to slideshow viewer program which was great, but since installing LanView 4 it no longer seems to work... is there anyway I can get this working again with Version 4 (or anything else that will work alongside UltraVNC to allow a similar thing) It was very handy to see all student monitors at the front displaying on the projector... it helped stop lots of them playing games in the background when the teacher wasn't looking! Oaktech Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 We are using lan view 4 server with the latest lanview 3 client and we have no problems with the password. We did have to change the windows firewall rule in gpo but nothing major. What error got thrown, what did you have to change? I'm getting "Invalid Firewall process image path or file not found: C:\Program files\MST Software\LanView 4 Client\ LV4Client.exe
CapnPugwash Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Hi , I was getting the same message : "Invalid Firewall process image path or file not found: C:\Program files\MST Software\LanView 4 Client\ LV4Client.exe" Nowt to do with my Firewall, it was my anti-virus program (Symantec Endpoint Protection) that didn't like it... which does make sense! Got it sorted by adding the LV4Client.exe to the exceptions list and now the client installs just fine
