Thanks for that. I want to avoid tablets as well but the swivel devices have caught my eye.
-
So I'm looking around at options and see the 2in1 style devices. The ones that allow the screen to be fully turned so it acts a little like a tablet (I know I said tablets weren't an option). These look nice and might serve a purpose when the SLT's are out and about taking notes, jotting things into whatever piece of software they use. Light and easy to hold, not too large and still function as a laptop and can be stuck on a desk and used with a dock or some description. Does anyone use or have such a device. As a guide to waht I mean I'll name the Lenovo Yoga. http://shop.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/lenovo/yoga/yoga-3-pro/ but not suggest I'll actually buy that make/model.

Thanks for the replies. Any more suggestions as I try to get an idea of what others may use?

I'm looking for a few replacement laptops for SLT. Looking for something light yet robust. Screen ideally 15", can be larger so long as it doesn't add too much to the weight. Tablets are not an option. Ultrabook's may be an option but the last ones were fragile and quickly broken. Most of the time the devices will be on a desk attached to a keyboard, mouse and external monitor but will be used around school to take notes as well as teach lessons on occasion. Touch screen would be helpful for this I think. I'm looking for a few pointers on where to start, there are way too many makes/models out there. Anyone have any experience of such devices to help with my search? Ta.

Can't have enough socks. I'm in again. -
Don't suppose anyone has access to the BIOS file that is contained within the Dell BIOS update .exe for a Dell Venue 11 Pro. The file name is 7130vPro_A15.exe but is encrypted or tied to the Venue. It won't run correctly on anything but the Dell, and that isn't an option either. It won't allow me to extract the BIOS file. The old /writeromfile or /writehdrfile does not allow the bios file to be extracted either.

Should have mentioned that. I used the Office 2013 standalone version on a system with Office 2010 already installed. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2903984

I want them there all of the time. Tired of clicking to show them whenever I run Impero. And no, I haven't tried the new support site. Didn't know there was one!

Thanks, I'm asking on here as I can't login to the help desk for some reason. After setting the basic/advanced and then putting it back to basic it does now auto popup the ribbon at least. Can't be doing with advanced all the time though.
-
I installed the OneDrive app and didn't use the Onedrive that ships with 8.1.
-
Does anyone know if it is possible to maximise the ribbon and keep it maximised every time Impero is run? Mine keeps defaulting to not showing the ribbon.

Have you set PersistAllDeviceInstalls in the sysprep answer file?

I used to get static shocks every single time I touched our server cab. Some were quite violent and visible. Good fun at times to touch someone else standing near me. It was caused by my cheap trousers and my cheap chair. I would charge up nicely and then discharge to the metal case of the server cab. Changed chairs and it stopped instantly, still wear cheap trousers though. Maybe the static is not in the laptop trolley but the user that touched it.

Big thanks to Very-PC for the Prize-a-day-May compo. Was great fun watching the videos in the hope of winning. My prizes arrived at school today and I'm more than a little happy. Got the 10" tablet, hoodie that fits one, pen, mug and of course the sweeties. To ABillyBob - I know you didn't win but you were close, oh so close. -

Well I'll mainly be having a 10" tablet, a Hoodie and I think I'll go for a mug to sip a brew from. "So does that win this?" "Yeah, he's won." "Who's won?" "Don__1." Class. Thanks all at VeryPC. -

Windows 7 and webcam to provide continuous filming
Don__1 replied to skipper147's topic in Windows 7
I did this last February. Setup and used Yawcam to output a still image every 5 minutes and a live feed out to an external website. Built the still images into a video file when finished. Hugely successful with pupils until the fox did his stuff 2 weeks after the chickens were put outside! -

Have been approached today about this. Has any one used or seen it in action yet? Does sound like it may be of use to us but I would want to see and hear more first.
