Deploy WEP/WPA settings via Registry?

I need to connect 50 laptops to a wireless access point with a 26 character WEP key. Is it possible to put the details in a .reg file and deploy this way?

Deploy the settings with group policy, just need them to GPUPDATE on a wired connection first.

That looks like a Server 2008 screenshot. I don't think these settings exist in Server 2003 GPO which we are running here.

Wireless config always makes me laugh.. deploying network settings via gpo always seems like chicken and egg situation... you need network connection to begin with but the wireless config is deployed via network but you have not network connection.. LOL.

 

We just configured them all manually (took forever) but it gave the chance to test our WLAN out at the same time.

The GPO still exists in 2003, I can't remember where it is... I don't think however it will allow you to use a WEP key... I can be wrong however.

I always do it manually too. I agree with the above statement - chicken and the egg situation.

 

On a seperate note, any reason why you're still wanting to use WEP? It's recommended to use WPA or WPA2 these days. Pretty much all newer wireless drivers support this.
