No. I can ask for feedback however I feel I know that the feedback will say that I made a poor job of the presentation [factually accurate but hesitant and too short 20 mins at most and should have been half an hour]

Some questions caught me by surprise and I would freely admit that for those questions the reply was not up to scratch.

The feedback will tell me what I know already: Based upon the evidence they had before them I was unsuitable for the post and they felt another candidate was more suited.

When your asked to an interview they have already decided you are SUITED for the job, there more likely assessing you as a person and whether you are fit for the school as a whole.

I.E It wouldn't come off in a CV or reference that you don't work well with children, but in a interview they could find that out.

Don't take not getting the job as a insult and keep trying, I find that I only manage to get a proper interview 'head' on when I'm on my third or forth interview.

i think i've only had four interviews in total. ever. Probably filled in about a dozen application forms and covering letters. I used to spend ages doing one or two at a time, and would then sat back waiting for the phonecall or letter.

LOL at IanT protesting too much. :p

Wonder if they sensed you were going to turn them down anyway. preempted the inevitable.

Tormead School for an ICT Network Manager.

I've applied for 5 roles within schools over the last few weeks, all of them Network Managers, I've turned 1 interview down, went too another interview, didnt get an interview for one and havent heard back from the other 2.

So...so far out of 5 you have been offered 2 interviews, got 1 rejection and 2 are as yet unknown.

That's pretty good actually:)

you do realise that the jobs in the new academys are probably ear marked for internal candidates from the merging schools involved.

Normally when two schools merge people are invited to reapply for their current position.
