kingswood Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I can indeed confirm that these things run very hot-- but mostly when plugged in to the mains. When charging my MBP last night it was running at 74 degrees C. It was hot. But then the temperature was up last night anyway- and I was listening to a podcast whilst surfing and downloading SP2 for my Parallels install of XP Pro. So it wasn't that bad. Took charger out after it finished and within 30 minutes the MBP was down to 39C. Cool. If you read the guy's site he explains that it is in fact a joke- he used tin foil for the egg by the way ;-) And as someone points out, you can cook an egg between 50-55 C...doesn't have to be too hot to get a nice tasty eggling out of that now, does it? And my Dell Inspiron 510m could beat that when charging my lap can tell ya!! Yum.
