wireless keyboards and mice

Hi,

 

have had a quick look on the forums, didnt really get an answer to my question.

 

We've have some really badly laid out rooms IWB wise. A lot of staff have started asking for wireless keyboards and mice.

 

They're basically gonna need a bit of distance on them. I've been looking a wireless, but have been put off by people saying it interfered with their wireless signal.

 

Bluetooth ones are pretty expensive and i want 9 to start off with.

 

Any ideas/suggestions?

I've personally never had any problems with wireless (WLAN) and wireless keyboards, however the only issue I have come across is the wireless keyboards interfering with each other. One of my wireless keyboards was interfering with the solicitors' over the road! Suddenly had someone's address and telephone number typed out for me in MS Word!

 

Bluetooth is the way forward I think, but as you said, a bit pricy.

You could get them a little cheaper if you look around but we have a couple here which we use in the conference rooms and they just work.

We had a lot of staff who wanted these, turned out they have limited channels and they started picking up other peoples. They are now on a shelf covered in dust

Ive got a bluetooth logitech MX5000 desktop kit ( includes both mouse and keyboard ) new was about £80 but obviously may be able to get it cheaper off of ebay ?

Bluetooth for me as well, most of the wireless ones are now in boxes in the store room so its wireless all the way and the range seemed better as well.

And I agree those are what I have in lots of rooms and they are good.

I'd suggest getting one in to test first, the lag on these things can be terrible and has put off almost all of the people I know that had them from continued use.

We use Logitech 2400 (Logitech Pro 2400 2.4Ghz Cordless Desktop - USB - OEM - Ebuyer), wireless but 2.4GHz so range is something like 30m. Never experienced any issues with lag, can't comment on WiFi interference though as we don't have WiFi. Battery life in the mouse is only 4-6 months though, which is a bit poor.

 

We tried a few Keysonic ones, but people didn't get on with the flat keyboards and touchpads.

Never had any problems with the ones we have, no interference, no lag or not working properly.

 

We only have the 2 mind but for the price and this is what little miss wanted I don't have a problem with them. :)
