It will. I would LOVE to see this happen.

 

It could be the last move in one hell of a bluff.

 

Or, hopefully, it's the first steps to a decent breakaway, with the best teams, drivers and minds.

Rumours are abound they are taking with them Monaco and Silverstone. Great news on both counts.

They will be taking away the biggest names in F1. Not only teams and drivers - the developers, engineers, the absolute genius minds of Ross Brawn and the likes. They have more financial clout and technology than Mr Whippy and Angry Dwarf could ever dream of.

 

This could be huge. It could effectively re-brand F1 (obviously it won't be called that) - but lets compare.

 

Williams and a bunch of newcomers/unknowns belting round Donnington on a not-fit-for-purpose circuit being governed by idiots that don't actually know what they're doing.

 

Or the best drivers and teams belting round Silverstone in the fastest racing cars in the world.

I would like to see this too, it might actually get back to being all about 'Innovation' again, would be nice to see.

I'm glad to see the teams are holding their ground - Mosley's grip is at last slipping. A breakaway championship without him sticking his oar in would be excellent and with the best teams and drivers is the better solution.

He can then get back to his 'dodgy sex parties' he is so keen on. The bloke's an idiot and the majority of the people working within the F1 structure can't stand him.

You can bet that Bernie isn't going to let this happen without one hell of a fight even if it means getting rid of his mate Mosley.

 

It leaves F1 without any engine manufacturers as well so it would probably end up as a one make championship like A1GP.

 

Whatever happens lets hope its the catalyst for putting more emphasis on the racing, cars that can follow closely, better circuits rather than how much money is generated

I don't know who thought of this cap or why they think it's a good idea. F1 is the cream of motorsport, so naturally I expect lots of money to be invested and new innovations to be developed.

 

Look how much of a difference the controversial double diffuser has made to this season. It came about from development and investment of course.

 

I also hope the proposal to make future world champions based on the number of race wins gets scrapped too. Jenson Button is a prime example. He's won 6 out of 7 races. If he'd of won the first 9 races, (under this proposal) why would any team race the rest? You'd of already won the world championship.
