Rumours are flying around today that some students are looking at causing havoc with the network today. I am not looking forward to it, especially with ICT exams going on aswell.

Most of them have been on the school field since 5am drinking...

We had similar rumours going round on our yr13 last day last week. Apparently they had 'hacked the network' and 'something big was going to happen' during the day.

Bugger all happened. Here's hoping your day is as quiet as ours was!

Powerless to do anything? Chuck em off, get the police to confiscate the alcohol & clip em round the ear.

Although more likely it is a case of safer there than some random other place at least they are in a 'safe' environment. I have opposing views about this tactic though.

When I was in secondary school we had "computer prefects", a title which I unfortunately managed to obtain (along with all the hate which comes with it). It was fairly common knowledge that the "computer prefects" had knowledge of the RM admin2 password (which was still "changeme" incidently) though as far as i know, our "network manager" (the head of ICT) never got wind that we knew it, even though all the students seemed to know. We told everyone we were going to do *insert nasty thing to do on administrator account here* on the last day as well, but we wouldn't really have done it, I'm not that mean/stupid lol. It kept them all in suspense though.

On my last day we changed all the shortcuts on our last day, so every shortcut on startmenu point at a network worms game, made for an interesting afternoon (although we did have help of the NM!)

At my daughter's school last year, the HT surpressed the riot of Y13 leaving with an ice cream van and bouncy castle. The previous year's turfing of one of the corridors hadn't gone down well (though the teachers thought it was funny)

Apparently a similar deal was struck with Y13 this year, which they agreed to, but they decided to mess about anyway. Nothing particularly serious, I think... lots of clingfilm, water pistols and bubble-bath in the loos. My daughter thinks there will be a rather draconian approach taken to Y13 and Y11 last days next year... she'll be in Y11.

On my last day (in the early 80s :o) ), there was a massive shaving foam/ water fight on the school field at lunch time and we were all dripping wet until we were allowed to go home at 4pm

we moved the heads escort into the assembly hall...that confused people a bit..:D It's not exactly hard to get all of the year together to lift a MK3 'scort after all.

This years 11s left quietly..shirt and book signing everywhere (we print out labels and stick them in), and the odd few hugs. Some kids are weird, they actually like us.

IIRC I'm the in the leavers assembly slideshow with a big hammer, saying "I'll miss you all, if you run fast enough and dodge when I go home." Bless.

"will you miss us?"...every year the same question. Been here 9 years, seen so many come and go. The only ex-student I don't miss is the one I'm taxiing around with morning sickness..and it's a bit hard to get shot of her after all this time..:D

Heh, the worst car related prank I did was at uni. We completely disassembled my mates ford fiesta. Hauled the bits up 8 floors and reassembled it in his kitchen.

I'm assuming shes been an ex-student for a while!

They let the kids out of this school randomly every year and won't even tell the teaching staff when it is!

Makes for a boring last day for them mind!

Hah, yes. A few of the "old guard" as we're now called remember her..95% of the staff have gone. The one's who remain have been here years and could be carbon-dated (except me)

When my dad was in 6th form his friends once drove a mini into a courtyard in the middle of the school which involved briefly driving it in one of the corridors!

Ours leave tommorrow. They are isolated into one wing of the school and just party! Should be the same this year apart from some have exams I believe.

Nothing like my last day - 'For Sale' sign erected, teachers cars filled with foam, rude message to the head weedkillered into the grass outside his office, general mayhem with flour and eggs, band blockaded themselves into a room above the heads office and turned the amps to 11 :D
