AV for Mac

I am just wondering what AV do you use for your mac at home? What are your opinions of it?

Used sophos for a while but found it slow, clunky and unnecessary, now removed and i go without, but if your after something free ClamXav is a good bet.

We use Sophos on the Macs at work, but it's so very rarely used I really don't see any point in using it. I can't actually remember having to use it at all on the 2000+ Macs we look after.

 

Personally, my MacBook hasn't had any AV software on it at all.

((nnngh, intended to edit with some rather more useful information, however I'm buggered if I can find it now Was a fairly nasty worm doing the rounds, certainly nothing near the likes of Conficker but not something I'd want to have to deal with never-the-less - will post info if my brain wakes up again ))

We've got VirusBarrier on the MacBook's.... Not perhaps 100% necessary, but good if you get audited etc.

That might well have been it. It wasnt ZDNet I found it on though - if it was, I'd have discounted it as complete rubbish along with pretty much everything else they publish

Like most Mac user's I don't use any anti-virus. I also don't download pirated software either so that probably helps too.

Hi,

 

been using Macs and PCs for years, and I had Norton Antivirus for Mac, but as it caused major conflicts with my audio recording set-up I had to uninstall it. Currently don't use anything, simply as there is a distinct lack of legitimate AV software for Mac around, though I hope the developers get onto it soon, as it's only a matter of time before the mighty Mac is brought to it's knees with viruses:eek:
