Right so i get a few tonight saying "Adaware/PUA "Hotbar" is not removable"... and..."Adaware/PUA "When U Installer" is not removable" Question is how do i get sophos to delete them automatically, and yes its set in the policy to Delete viruses...so im stumpted? Any Ideas? Cheers Mart
Michael Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Sophos (in many situations) requires a full scan to be performed or occasionally an additional manual download of a removal tool.
iSteve Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 If it's flagging up adware...that's technically not a virus is it - so maybe it won't automatically delete it.
Oops_my_bad Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 (edited) It really depends.. we get these kinds of alerts when an infected USB stick is inserted.. so it gets flagged up. When I go and visit the machine and scan, I discover it was on a USB stick and didnt get any further, similarly if it was in a profile it may already have been deleted due to the local user profile cleanup thing which runs here - sometimes I will run a scan just to make sure but on the whole, Sophos seems to be doing its job. Makes me almost shed a tear considering how much we slag it off Edited April 9, 2009 by Oops_my_bad
