It was the two litre bottles at download which were the worst!

But you're allowed to take in 500ml bottles of water at Leeds and they're ok, so it should be allowed to take them in full of whatever liquid you prefer. I know it's only due to the money made from selling alchohol though, otherwise searches for drugs would be as stringent, which as everyone who's been knows, they don't care about...

last year i took 64 cans and had about 3 left on the Monday but i went down on the wednesday

This year im taking same again but gonna probs be lil more varied as drinking so much of one drink puts u off for ages afterwards.

i think in he 5 days i was there i only drank alcohol

Why did you take cans and glass bottles in? With the amount of bottle throwing that goes on, doing so is dangerous and irresponsible.

I've never seen one bottle been thrown in the camp site.

And considering we weren't allowed in we kept them in a tent at all times.

They couldn't be reached by anyone

Download is appalling for bottles been lobbed, though it was 2004 when I went.

Been to Leeds the last 3 years, a lot better.

the riots on the sunday night at leeds are awful, if you go on youtube and type in leed festival riots there insane, i do understand ppl wanna have fun but the extent of damage done this year was mental

1 stage? try 20

over a week...equates to a lot

Tends to be loads of bands you know - and a lot you don't normally means seeing stuff you wouldn't normally see

looks to be only one stage?

with only 3 or 4 bands I'd REALLY want to see

instead of 8 or 9 at download

The WP article mentioned that the 2008 one had the main stage, and at least 2 others...

Yeah was pretty bad this year, if you don't like them though stay over in Brown or Green campsites and it's fine. Usually Orange is too but not this year....

I was in orange 2007 and 2008 just cus when i eventually return to tent it for sleep if I up I tend to be gone, and I half expected the police to be in in full force last year but they just seemed to ignore the matter. I honestly wish the idiots throwing gas cans on fires would have them blow up in the own faces as the dont seem to understand that the big flash they see has the tendency to fire shards or metal and bonfire (what ever the fire is made out of) at very high speeds, the risk to others is monumental considering what it actually achieves.

sorry started little rant just annoys me

That's it, I don't mind the fires to be honest if they're not throwing canisters and deodorant on.

Also, if it's they're tents helps too. One guy next to us came back to find his stuff piled in the field and his tent gone, they'd burnt it.

Keep fires in yellow people, they want it.

The only groups I would be remotely interested in seeing in that line up would be Prodigy and possibly Pendulem. The rest I would avoid like a rash in fear of getting bottled by a fat kneckbeard yelling TIMMMAAYY!

The only vaguley rock/metal festival I went to was Reading 2006 and we only went for Sunday evening to see Pearl Jam. I'm never going again.

The place was like a warzone! Everyone was burning everything and going mad because it was the last day. I couldn't get the smell of burning plastic out of my hair for weeks. Not a good vibe at all.

I've had a much better time at the past two Glastonbury festivals despite the rain and mud. Last year was good though, lots of sunshine, lots of different types of music and all night parties. The silent disco's are great and go on til the wee hours. Everyone wears wireless headphones to listen to the DJ so everyone can party and not keep other campers awake. Wicked idea. It's so weird walking past the tent and watching hundreds of people dance to silence.

Its a shame u judge all metal festivals by 1 bad expiriance

(however reading/leeds isnt metal and that anticts there are childish and annoying, camping away from the arena helps)

and i am really looking forward to the prodigy!!

dont like the majority of bands that play glastonbury and t in the park etc so thoes festivals wouldnt b much fun to me. silent disco was at leeds last couple of years and enjoyed that but the best (none band) was the bike shows at download loads of ace tricks and stunts being performed all weekend

Totally agree with you there. And the cinema tent is awesome. Shaun of the Dead on the big screen :p :p Only let down was people cheering when planes went over head, but even that was funny in its own little way.

I think without all the (careful) fun it's not as much of an atmosphere.. and even with some of the wreckless fun its still a laugh and can be funny.

But perhaps I'm just one of those guys who will do stupid things and only think of the consequences once its done and laughing.

Booked my ticket the other day, just gotta hope my friends actually come thru and buy theirs now! This'll be the 3rd time I've done Download festival, I missed last year thou as I changed jobs at the same time the festival was on so I couldn't take the time off.
