Evening,

Right, so i brought a blackberry the weekend... i have all my data setup and BIS.

For my email i understand you have to do it via a blackberry server, so i download this for exchange:

BlackBerry

As this is just for me, and maybe 1 other person is the above all i have to download and set up (which is free) or is there other things i have to but which come at a cost?

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks

James.

if it justs for you it's free - but the version only comes with one CAL, so if you want any more users you'll have to buy the CALs

Fantastic :) that's my main question answerd

Does this work for both Exchange 2003 and 2007?

How much do the CALS Cost?

Cheers

well, we've got a fully fledged BES working with exchange 2007, so i imagine the express is the same.

For CALs its worth speaking to a reseller, ramesys or someone maybe? I've no idea, but shouldn't be too bad.

Bear in mind though, if you see it expanding beyond 30 devices you'll need to purchase a BES, as the express will only support 30.

I setup 2 blackberry devices for the heads at my school, no need to download software, just registered it on the vodafone site, configured email in there account and boom! done!, they only wanted it for email, works like a treat.

Ah right thats interesting... i know you could have email sync with the bb, but thought it had to be done via some form of blackberry server. (i'll keep that in mind) :)

As for what you said john! Shh! :p lol *Nudges you on msn*

Thanks Domino, i will speak to ramsys if i need to purchase any licence's i think and i doubt i will reach the 30 devices.

The blackberry, i only got the blackberry perl 8120 which cost me £150.00 as its my first one i didn't want to spend allot of money on the bold for example.

It does everything you want it to do, i just brought the phone for that price and the all i do is top up £5 a month and i get unlimited data and email :) thought it was quite a good deal.

Didn't want to have another contract.
