Wrong time of year really. Come spring you wont be able to get them.

The point is that when spring comes it will all be set up and ready to go. It's aloy a few weeks away when the first birds start to get prepared for mating season.

Shame this wasn't a week ago, we just ordered a complete hi-res kit off handykam.com complete with box.

Mind you, the cedar bird box is really well made, and they really do include everything you need in the kit, including the right size drill bit to get the cables inside the building, so it is worth the money.

So i have just built my Aldi bird box and im up a ladder after luch to fit it.

Have it running to a tv card and can view it in VLC or Booru webcam (A free ftp webcam app)

Every time i try and run both application it crashes.

What software can i use to stream the webcam video/audio on the school network and also ftp images to the website.

Cheers

I've been using yawcam with my birdbox cam, seems to work well for me.

I've stumbled across this neat product, but what do you people think?

Looks like it supports PoE, supports good resolutions, low light and also video/picture capture without the need for a dedicated PC. Not badly priced either and would/should comfortably fit within a bird box.

I think I wish I'd seen that last year before I crammed an IP camera into a bird box!

Mind you, are they designed specifically for pub use?

Hi,

We provide a remote viewing service from our Manchester datacenter.

The cost is £75 per annum for up to 5 cameras.

You can set the cameras to send (Via FTP) images every 30 seconds as a sort of time lapse and the end users can go live on one camera at a time.

The connection to the live camera is made by our server and multicasted to the end users so that one live feed to your location can be viewed by many hundreds of people at the same time -makes good use of the small upload on broadband.

Plane

That's an example. We had 2000+ people watching those cameras when the Vulcan first flew.

Last year we did, sheep watch, lion cam (twyford) and a peregrine falcon. I also had the swallows at home online.

We are working on a joomla component, but we can also help with PHP/HTML.

Any IP camera or video server would do as the camera, Axis, Panasonic,Ycam etc.

It's a sideline of our main job.

Regards

I am very new to this so be gentle! I am interested in buying an Aldi bird box camera but it would be a long way from my tv to run a cable. Is it possible to connect it without too much trouble to a computer?

Depends on your computer! You need one with video and sound in. SCART preferably, but you can easily convert that to composite video.

Check that your Aldi store has them in stock. This thread was originally started last year.

They are on offer again this year (from 4th Feb).
