You know in HMV etc you have a post where you have a headset that you can put on and press a number and it plays a track, how could this be done using a PC?

All it would need to do is play a track named 1, 2, 3 etc when the corresponding button is pressed on the keyboard. The box could be hidden somewhere with just headphones and a USB numeric keypad on display?

Ideas anyone?

Thanks!

I was thinking if there was little vb app anyone knew about, i think it'd a relatively easy app to write for someone who knows vb (not me!)

IIRC there's something like this available for Winamp + Matrix Orbital LCD screens (ones w/ buttons). I think you can configure it for keyboard keys as well, but can't be sure.

Have a look in the bit-tech.net forums, I'm sure someone else has built something like this.

edit: a quick google displays many gubbins for controlling winamp in the manner you require.
