We have these settings in the software, they might help. If they don't then try posting a picture showing what's happening, or try out support team. menu->studio settings->flipchart objects

I never have much joy with wifi in linux, especially on my home network. I don't have an eee pc and don't have xandros. But on ubuntu/fedora at home I always have to compile and install a recent build of madwifi (madwifi.org - Trac). Don't know if that's worth looking at.

I heard it would have an atom processor, same as the new eeepc notebooks.

I love this, anyone know if the problem's been fixed? I'd advise calling tech support, they're not nasty people and they can fix this problem. But just a summary of things to do. 1. Switch it off and on again 2. If the board didn't beep when you switched it on then it could be a faulty psu, try another one. Or the psu might not be connected, check cables. 3. Serial or USB? If it's serial try starting the driver manually on the correct port, right click the driver icon and choose settings, the rest is obvious. 4. Update the driver, driver 4 onward was signed, so has less chance of anything cocking up in device manager. 5. Try logging on as another user, maybe an admin 6. LET US KNOW WHAT FIXED IT

Actually I've heard of parents doing this in the past. I think our chairman has a board in his basement too. Having a whiteboard installed at home is no different to installing in a school, just depends on the size of the room. Maybe worth knowing what they want to use the system for.

So what point are you at now, had a bit of trouble following the path of the thread. Your users can log on, authenticated against the AD, they have correct home directories? So the only thing you don't have is custom network shares and personalised desktop?

Does anyone have any thoughts on self study alone with some good books/cds and then submitting for exams privately?

Lol, yes, I was browsing the site of a college at the same time I think my best bet might be to go to this course, and to swot up big style on the specific books/cds alongside it. Then of course go for the exams when I'm ready for each one. Does that sound like a plan?

hmmm, tempting. So I take that course then I pick my exams and take them at a local center. However the course description looks a bit generalised, anyone got any feedback of Lancaster college? Looks like they might not be on the ball on this one. I love this line: "Particular emphasis is given to using decision-making and problem-solving techniques to solve systems design, development and implementation problems." So hang on, they used problem solving techniques to solve problems, well dang naggit they're onto something there.

[Promethean hat off] I'm actually thinking of taking the MCSE certification for work, I think it would help with a few of the big sites we have to deal with. I think a few more techs in the world would appreciate it if the person coming in to look for problems on their systems actually had a commercial certification. I already have HND/Degree in Computer Studies/Multimedia Systems and have a lot of experience managing networks (Windows/Mac with a little experience with Linux workstations) and feel I'm technical enough to jump in. Probably not as comfortably as you guys who work with server 2003 every day, but should have a shot. Can anyone give me any advice, or recommend anywhere in Lancashire for training? Prefferably not in Manchester. Can anyone tell me if personal study and taking the exams alone is any better?

got the full game in the end. very fun, building up all my cars and achievements now.

my guide on what I've seen working. USB can be extended but only with active usb extenders (I mean active as in power, not a silly product name). No more than 5m between boosters. Should go up to 15-20m but depends on the quality of the USB chipset on the machine. I would also recommend you only use Activdriver 4.1.13 with this setup, as there are a lot of fixes in it for disconnected Activboards that are connected through usb hubs or repeaters.

I think the only thing left is a service, or a new projector. It depends which makes more financial sense to you. I have 1 silly suggestion you can try if you're really desperate, put it in a really cold room for an hour, and give it another go. Could be a problem with the temperature monitors.

contact your reseller. I know we at Promethean have supplied SW35s so it might be us, but it sounds like a service/firmware update might be called for.
