RobC Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Well, if it means anything, I don't class SIMS as a swear word. Phoenix on the other hand...
GrumbleDook Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Just about to post this across to uk.education.schools-it too ... I'll put a link to this thread, and it might encourage a few more to look in here too (I think a number of the regulars are already here though).

Cheers Nath

kingswood Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Did someone mention Mac OS integration? That would be great! Paul

GrumbleDook Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I was going to try and get an Apple Solutions Expert in for it, but they want some dosh ... and told me to speak to Apple ... who told me to speak to an ASE ... I can get someone else but don't want to tie them down unless I can confirm there will be enough interested people.
kingswood Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Cool. Well, I would be up for that- since we are about to implement AD and OS X Server together. If it's going to happen, keep me informed (if you don't mind). Sounds like the conference will be interesting anyway. I've got a question to ask you- can I PM it to you? Paul
RobC Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 @Russ Any word on whether the Specialist Schools Trust are going to give us their blessing?
Ric_ Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I was going to try and get an Apple Solutions Expert in for it, but they want some dosh ... and told me to speak to Apple ... who told me to speak to an ASE ... I can get someone else but don't want to tie them down unless I can confirm there will be enough interested people. You'd think that an ASE would jump at the chance to speak (read 'sell to') a room full of network managers!
Dos_Box Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Or maybe just be scared to stand up in front of us?
mac_shinobi Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 An Apple a day keeps the doctor away I never have really used an apple before aside from CTC so I would be interested in getting back into using a mac when I can afford my own or if I get a chance to *grins*. Looking forward to this conference though, sounds interesting !!
tosca925 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I would be up for this meeting as well. But at this early stage i cannot commit to a date. I would probarbly have to leave it to the week before until i am able to commit. I've been trying to get a Microsoft Course out of the school and this is the week i have aimed for. But i won't hold my breath.
GrumbleDook Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 @Russ Any word on whether the Specialist Schools Trust are going to give us their blessing? As an official SST event ... not at the moment. However we can (and will) run it as an ICT Register event instead. However BECTA appears to be a go-er ... I have some stuff to go through with the communications team and this sort of event is perfect for them. I'll let you know how it goes.
russdev Posted August 26, 2005 Author Posted August 26, 2005 basicly we are trying to get it so this does not cost anything to people wanting to come hence why we wanted sst blessing as to say but should have stuf for you very soon... Russ
alexknight Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Is there a specific way of registering your intrest in this event and if so how? I was thinking of perhaps an e-mail link so we culd be notified when and where the conference was being held. Thanks Alex Knight

witch Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Sounds great - it is half term here so no worries there. Also, thanks for making it not too far up North! I am probably in the minority as you all seem scarily competent, but how about some more basic stuff for those of us who arent that high? I dont know quite what - I know I have problems with things that I am sure you all find easy - like Active Directory and IIS and - well - practically everything really!!
