stormserver Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Yep, I have been rooting for FOG here. Does it deploy .gho files or just .img? Thanks, Kris Cote
mac_shinobi Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 found this not sure how much it helps Using Windows Deployment Services with Ghost Solution Suite 2.5 | Symantec Connect Also this http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-get-started-ghost-solution-suite-25-boot-disks-and-ghostcast-server When booting a PC-DOS boot disk, it hangs at "Loading PC-DOS...", a blank screen, or freezes after clicking "OK" on the Ghost welcome screen Drives (SATA drives, USB drives, CD/DVD drives, etc) are not being detected Most commonly this is due to an IRQ conflict. To resolve this, either use Windows PE, or create your PC-DOS boot disk with the following switches: -FNI -FFX -NOIDE -NOUSB Switches are to be added in the Parameters section of the boot wizard: NOTE: LiveUpdates must be applied before the parameters field is useable.

I've just been looking for a solution on the net for this! found it here!
Trapper Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 We have several of these machines and I have been unable to Ghost them directly. However I simply pop the hard drive into another HP machine (such as a 6715b) and Ghost from there. Bit of a hassle, but it works well
IanT Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I dont, all I do is input "-FNI -FFX -NOIDE -NOUSB" into the Parameters section when making the bootable USB Stick\CD and I can ghost like that, no need to take drive out etc
Trapper Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I'm sure our boot discs have these settings already from a pain in the ass machine a couple of years ago. Couldn't say for sure though without checking - and I'm not doing that until January!!
imunro01 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Capital punishment... I'm recommending everyone for I know who uses Ghost to check out FOG for imaging... it is truly awesome! I'd certainly agree with you on that - we use FOG on any machines we can.
