kingswood Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Excellent stuff, EXCEPT- the free version is limited to only one technician?
jam Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Thats correct! This free 1 Tech lite edition allows you to support as many clients as you need as long as you only require 1 Technician to support them. You only pay for the software if you need more than 1 Tech, and even then the pricing is very reasonable. There are two editions - Lite and Pro depending on what feature set you need. This free edition uses the Lite functionality. As for Schools buying the Lite/Pro software, if they require more than 1 Tech there are some great educational discounts available!
whd_guy Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Hi everyone, Just a quick post to let you all know that the Web Help Desk software is now also available as a hosted SaaS option installed on our UK-based servers. So if you either don't have the infrastructure to install the software yourself, or if you would just prefer the simplicity of the installation/maintenance being taken care of by someone else, this is for you! You still get the same excellent Web Help Desk software in both the Lite and Pro varieties, but we host it for you on our top of the range servers located at a secure state of the art UK-based data centre. So all you need to get going is an internet connection and your favourite web browser... easy! Click here for more info on the UK Hosted Web Help Desk Software All the best, whd_guy 1
round2it Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 (edited) could i add that the support from Webhelpdesk people is great i had them talk me through the ldap setup. and you can contact them without waiting 20 mins the guys know the product inside out. they do not hastle you to upgrade either it is free for one tech(thats all i need) our staff seem to like it only issues i have with it is the reporting is not overly great but i was told that this is being looked into. but for a free helpdesk it does what it says on the tin. easy setup has its own database (frontbase) you can use sql if required you do not need a powerful machine to run it(all web based) Edited December 3, 2010 by round2it

timzim Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Higher Education Customer List Lower Education Customer List That's amused me - I've never seen the expression "Lower Education" before, even though I suppose it's the logical partner of Higher Education, i.e. primary/secondary. Doesn't quite sound right though. Makes me think of lower life-forms....oh, hang on....
davida50000 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I have installed this on Windows Server 2008, and after pressing the continue button to initialise the frontbase database it appears to be stuck on the updating database page. Any ideas? Thanks!
Web_Help_Desk_Supportster Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hi David, If you close the browser and re-open it and then going to the Web Help Desk url, does it let you login? If not contact us at Unipress Sofware as you have a maintenance contact with us and we will help you get this resolved. Cheers
