A thing to remember - a 100Mb connection to your LEA/RBC does not necessarily mean you've got 100Mb to the internet - ie. the contention ratio will not be 1:1.

To be honest quality over quantity comes to mind. I see many 'high speed' connections which perform nothing like what they should!

True or in the geek speak - QOS

maybe not in the same sense but ah well :D

I would just love to have a 10mb connection at work, we are part of the NHS N3 Network, our internet is shocking, it is quicker for me to come home and download the file I want and drive back to the office, although we did have a backup ADSL line installed for another purpose but they didnt pay the bill!

We have some serious network upgrades going on at the moment and installing fibre between our sites to help free up the N3 connection although the N3 gateway is swapped at the other end and CFH won't fund an upgrade apparently.

The joys of working here, to be honest 3G is quicker for net access at time, 100mb would be ace to have!

I'll have to check my facts but Swansea schools are all linked back to the LEA building on 100Mbit links (through various switches). We then join a 4.3Gbit Janet link from Swansea University.
