Wanted: Tiny Hi-Fi Speakers

I have a need for 2 tiny hi-fi speakers for my kitchen (Would use PC speakers, but they require a separate power supply). They must be as small as possible (less than 20cm tall) and use normal speaker cable.

Any recommendations?

What about car speakers? Possibly drill them to the underside of your benching? Hidden away nicely.

I shop at Richer Sounds, but their smallest speakers are not quite small enough.

The KEF Egg rears. Mount them sideways. You can buy them indivdually off E-Bay. Dad has just put these up as his rear speakers. They are part of a 5.1 sytem. 245 x 125 x 150mm (satellite). I guess that they are still going to be too big.

I already have a set of Bose 201 speakers for my main hi-fi\AV setup.

245 x 125 x 150mm (satellite). That's gonna be too big though. Shame, they look great on the wall.

You can use PC speakers without power, but they will probably sound very tinny if you don't use a sub. That said so will most truly small speakers.

 

As an off the wall suggestion, again assuming you could hide a sub, how about the Wharfedale Loud Panel?

 

Sorry, but I've only noticed that it should be an "On The Wall" solution.

Could you not get a Creative 2.1 set and then do away with the sub and its built in amp and then re-drive them off something else perhaps?

DB... if you had just asked! You have seen that one of my living rooms has KEF - Innovators in Sound - SURROUND SOUND SYSTEMS - home theatre - home theatre KHT1005.2 in it! They are the baby KEF eggs and perfectly adequate for use in a secondary room. You should be able to find a couple of speakers on Ebay too!
