Getting video from iMovie onto Moodle

Hi,

 

Does anyone have any bright ideas how to get video files out of iMovie into a format which is compatible with Moodle? The version we have can only output to QuickTime .mov files, and our Moodle doesn't seem to recognise them??

 

The only thing I can think of at the moment is to export the MOVs from iMovie, and then use Premiere Elements on a PC to convert them to a different format.

 

Any suggestions for a better way, or even good movie formats to use on Moodle.

Quicktime Pro will allow you to then convert it to a range of formats easily opened by other apps.

You should also be able to export to QuickTime and chose "expert settings". This will allow you to export to a variety of formats. This is built in to iMovie.

I use IVC, it converts just about everything you could want.

They have a USB Key version, and a full installer version.

Best of all it's FREE.
