OK, so it's a Sunday and I'm on EduGeek, but it's for a purpose.

What are your favourite Windows shortcuts (via keyboard).

I'm meaning stuff like Ctrl+R to get the run command or Windows Key and Pause to get the system info up.

Which ones do you use ALL of the time?

I'm only asking because I might find some of them useful if I don't know them.

I live from the Run dialog, so for me it's Win+R. Secondly I usually have a lot of apps open, so switching between them is as quick as Alt+Tab. The way I organise my Start menu also means I use the Win key to bring up the menu and then start typing letters for my apps. Edited by webman

Windows+M?

Huh, I do Windows+D for this... silly Microsoft ^_^

Windows+Break for System Info is one I like.

Also CTRL+SHIFT+ESC for Task Manager

Windows + M minimises everything but Windows + D is the equivalent of show desktop so pressing that a second time also restores everything. :)

I thought that it went like this:

Windows + M : minimize all

Windows + Shift + M : restore all to the way that they were

I also use Win + L : lock more often than not

Another favorite of mine is Win + E : brings up a new windows explorer window at the my computer level

Didnt know about that one! Thanks!

The amount of times I just want an explorer window and end up having to get a run box up and then type a drive letter!

Windows + L for me - second nature now when I leave the PC

The windows + D is useless when you are running Windows updates. As soon as you click on anything that opens an explorer window the windows updates pops back up.

I usually keep my finger hovering over the e key ready for all the end nows i need to get rid of :)

Nope dont have CC3, just normal Server 2003 and XP i think it is set in GP at the highest point, i would alter it but i would have to readjust it for the other staff and students, it was set up before i started.

None of the windows shortcuts work.

CC3 by chance? Ours are too - can't use Windows+R etc but can use the Alt+Whatever.

It's possible to change this in the Usertype GPOs if desired (make a copy of a usertype, make changes, apply the new usertype to desired users).

Kind of off topic now but that doesn't bother me too much - what does bother me is the fact I can't look at MMC's etc when logged in as myself. Got to log in as systemadmin to do that and TBH I don't like doing it.
