Dos_Box Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Here you go. A sample of the small sticker\badge we will be giving out to all members who visit the stand at BETT 2009. We would like you to place it on your visitor pass please, in one corner (it will be relatively small). Our aim is to not only allow you all to spot each other at a distance, but to raise awareness of us as you walk around and get scanned every 12 feet! I will also make it a point that there is no free pizza without one, so pop in and see us first when you come down, and we'll tell you where the best freebies are, before we send you to laugh at the state of Gav on the Smoothwall stand. The background colour to these badges will be gold BTW.
Gatt Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Cool Hoping to get down for the fri/sat (family trip to London on the cards) so if I m down I'll def make my way there !
tom_newton Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Got a couple of suggestions.... 1. Put a space on the sticker for eg username so people can more easily associate meatspace names to usernames. Write it in with a CD pen or some such when you give it out. 2. If you're gonna laugh at Gav, it would seem counterproductive not to laugh at Sue as well Se if we can get her sounding like Barry White's sister again
ajbritton Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Great idea (I seem to remember suggesting EduGeek hats a couple of years ago...). I second Tom's point about somewhere to write your username. Did someone say free Pizza.... mmmmmmm...
Zoom7000 Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 I'll be looking forward to it! I just hope RM will let me go, seeing as "All my base is belong to RM" then! But HR assures me I will be allowed... All good!
Dos_Box Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 Great idea (I seem to remember suggesting EduGeek hats a couple of years ago...). I second Tom's point about somewhere to write your username. Did someone say free Pizza.... mmmmmmm... We already have hats We'll be giving them away on the stand too I imagine (my garage is full of them!!)
Edu-IT Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Can you have more than one badge if you've got split personalities? (Twice the amount of pizza too?)
witch Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Or look after more than one establishment? Being sent two separate BETT badges - actually quite useful as I can change badge depending who I am talking to (sometimes people are very condescending to those who come from a first school)
elsiegee40 Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Excellent idea! An idea like this had been going through my mind... it would be nice to be able to identify some fellow eduGeeks! I like the idea of being able to put your user name on too.
john Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Or look after more than one establishment? Being sent two separate BETT badges - actually quite useful as I can change badge depending who I am talking to (sometimes people are very condescending to those who come from a first school) Oh good not just me that finds that then when you go to a primary stand and the next stand is secondary and you want to talk to them as well! My last place was 3-18 so I had to do the full range of stuff, but did find it annoying that some firms were a bit iffy.
contink Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Times like that the best thing is to say you consult for various schools of differing ages and abilities. Red carpet time
john Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 My next badge will just say IT Consultant on it
Butuz Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I AM GOING TO MAKE IT IN 2009!!!!! Even if it kills me! Andrew
