Veeam Replacement

Morning all - we've just had our Veeam renewal cost and it's jumped to a point I don't think it is affordable. What are you all using? Before I push for the funding I just wondered if there is something else of the same quality and ease of use that you guys may use.

Give PeaSoup a call, We found it's often cheaper to get some cloud storage with them than it it to buy the Veeam licensing. They bundle the Veeam licences in free when you get the cloud storage.

+1 for Peasoup. We get our Veeam licenses through them + cloud storage for backups

How many cores are you backing up with Veeam?

 

Because we were only backing up two CPUs / sockets, we managed to downgrade to Veeam Essentials and save a bunch of money on our renewals. 

 

Essentials - 2 sockets max

Standard - 6 sockets max

Enterprise - More than 6 sockets

i would see if you can shop around.  Veeam might be expensive but it really does work well on a restore - physical, virtual, cloud.  Our Redstor is great at restoring cloud, decent at restoring onsite files, tragic for bare metal.  Veeam is great for all.

Never used it, but Nakivo was suggested to us a few years ago when we were initially considering Veeam. It was pitched as basically doing much the same under the hood as Veeam at the time, but at a lower cost. I wanted the comfort of sticking with Veeam, since the vast user base makes Googling your problems that much easier.
