Odd .pdf auto open, anywhere logged in

We have an issue here with pdf files.

 

When a teacher opens one, it also also opens on any other device they are logged on to. ie open on laptop at desk, and it opens on the PC displaying on the TV display in front of the class.

 

I think it's with files opened from attachments or downloaded, rather than already stored.

 

Any ideas?

Adobe Reader possibly, or might be Edge. We've yet to physically see it, but at least 10 staff have reported it (badly....)

sounds like microsoft edge sync open tabs (and possibly sync history).  If "open tabs" is enabled, if two machines are logged on, have the same edge profile, have edge open, then it stands to reason that the profiles will sync and tabs will open and close automatically since the profile will be synced.
