AlphamaleZed Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Hi Guys, Wanted to know if anyone has switched to InTune away from JAMF at all? We currently paying around £3k a year but InTune is included in our A3 licensing we have recently purchased. If you are using it would be keen to hear your experiences especially the negatives. I would be migrating if its worth while soon and then finished by December (my renewal date).
JRA Posted February 2 Posted February 2 FWIW I have not done this, but recently spoke to a friend of mine (also in education IT support) who has only recently gone with intune for ipads. I don't know what they used previously but he said intune was a breeze and worked brilliantly. I did mention that I'd heard there were reliability issues in years gone by but he said it was flawless and all very simple. I am tempted to consider it in the near future, although I do love Jamf. Interested to hear the thinking on this also. 2
Langella Posted February 3 Posted February 3 We never had anything with JAMF but we are migrating from AD to Intune, about 2000 laptops and 700 ipads. All iPads have been in intune for a year now and only 400 are fully cloud on intune. My opinion is that everyone should do it. It brings modern configurations and policies to endpoints which are now coming out with Windows 11. Negative side is the learning curve, packing Apps for deployment ( depending on the app) can be annoying and depending on your infrastructure ( eg Printers and Wifi) you may need extra investments.

Bird97 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 We are looking into intune MDM for our iPads but ours are shared ipads and we are having massive issues when testing apps not installing setup taking a lot longer than JAMF just wondered is everyone who vouched for intune using iPads 1 to 1 or as shared iPads? Any tips would be appreciated
midweek Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Currently using Intune to Autopilot windows device and ipads (on a small scale for testing). I can safely say the iPads are easier to set up than the Windows devices! 2

The narrative has always been that Intune is rough for iPad/Macs and JAMF is the absolute king of the castle. What was wrong with JAMF that you find yourself making such a bold statement? (about 8 years ago, as an experienced Windows Admin (with a bit of 2005-era Mac exposure), it took me a weekend to go from zero JAMF knowledge to having 120 macs set up, and six years ago it took me *TWO WEEKS* to get as confident with inTune for managing Windows)

We have A LOT of iPads. Intune for iOS is so good. MacOS, it's a little rough - Jamf is better for MacOS. Until you've tried iOS on Intune, don't knock it It probably helps that we have 1:1 iPads, if they were shared, I could see why Jamf is better. 1
Discovery1031 Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Just bringing this back to life slightly, Is anyone using Intune to manage MacOS devices, and if so will it allows users to login with their Microsoft accounts on the Macs.

You can do with with Jamf and other MDMs too, it is the Platform SSO functionality within MacOS itself. I am not using it yet, but it is on my path of things to explore.
