Morning!

I am banging my head against a brick wall, and Sibelius support has not been much help at all.

I am hoping someone may have come across this already and have found the fix.

We have domain bound PCs running Windows 11. Sibelius installed and running really well, pointing to a network licence server.

All was working fine, but then out-of-the-blue Sibelius has started to crash on the splash screen at launch. I can see the machine get a licence from the licence server console.

I have tried everything I can find online, full reinstall, updates, licence server upgrades.

Works with a local account, but not a domain account.

My guess is it trying to write a file to a folder that it can't, but I am out of ideas now.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you tried using Procmon when opening Sibelius to see what it's trying to access?

We used to have Sibelius a few years back & it was a bit of a nightmare getting it working, unfortunately can't remember what we did!

No I haven't, but I will give that a go now. Thanks for the suggestion :)

are your drivers uptodate & any devices in DevMGMT ok?

Have had serious performance issues before with Sibelius and a broken driver

can you try it in an ou with no policy's applied?

So no issues with drivers.

Works with a local account and a domain admin, but standard users it does not.

No changes as far as I'm aware, was working one day and then stopped working the next.
I have tried moving both the Workstation and User into an OU with no GPOs and the issue persists.

I can only guess that it is a permissions issues with some reading and writing of folders

Trying to bump this. Still no luck with this at all.

Any luck with Procmon? If you filter the process name you should be able to see what it is trying to do

Not sure if it's the same for network servers set ups, but for online activation we've had similar issues before due to users not having required access to C:\ProgramData\Avid\Licenses\Sibelius.

Might not be the same folder, but does sound like it might be a permissions issue.

I had a quick look, it was the first time using it and maybe I need to invest some more time into it.

I have checked and the authenticated users appear to have the right permissions to the necassary folders.....i think :D
