Senso V2

I've read quite a few negatives about V2 on here.. have these settled down now or are they still occurring.

 

I inherited V1 which is fine and I've started looking at migrating to v2.. .(they've really messed around with where the settings are). Can't find anything  Trying to find the groups to assign the DSL to but can't see any setup.

 

I deployed v2 to one machine, which I didn't reboot, which showed up instantly on the console but as 2 previously logged in users.. this sorted itself out after a reboot.  The remote viewer seemed quicker but I was sat right next to it using the same AP.

 

Their support seems a bit pants.. I need to update around 250 machines with the new version eventually.

Yes.. V2 shows you all the users still logged in to a computer. Which is even worse if you want to broadcast your screen because it will broadcast the screen of the first person who logged in.

 

I wish I could have avoided going to V2 but required it for external filtering.

We don't have the external filtering which i presume we haven't paid for. Our devices are 1:1 so the multiple users shouldn't be an issue. We have has some occasions where its not showing someone logged on even though they were which I was hoping would improve in v2.

We found it didn't work particularly well if switch user was enabled. So we don't have that enabled at any site now.

 

As to the successs with v2 - If you had asked the same question in September I would have said stay well clear - now, we are happy with where we are at with it.

As above disable "switch user" on student machines, that helps.

 

Support aren't great. We are sticking on V1 for as long as possible

senso keeps working on chrome laptops where its disabled, did anyone had this issue?

They had a really rocky period a few months back, but its been great since the latest update and a change on our group policy to prevent user switching.

I did ask 6 days ago if there was predefined roles for the users.. still waiting for a response. 

 

I'm sure I'll get used to it but its not the most user friendly console. 

 

How did you guy update from v1 on the client?

We had to make our own roles

 

The MSI updates nicely VIA GPO, new licence file to push out though

We use InTune so I'll push it through there.
