mikkydoos Posted April 11 Posted April 11 (edited) Hi all, Looking for a new ID card printer for a large secondary school. Ideally we want speed, cartridge load, ability to print from multiple machines, decent bundled software.... or does anyone have recommendations of decent 3rd party software. Don't need encoding as cards are purchased pre-encoded. Any recommendations guys ??? Cheers in advance Edited April 11 by mikkydoos

Bromcom_ML Posted April 14 Posted April 14 When I was in a school, I always used Digital ID, https://www.digitalid.co.uk/ for our ID card supplies. Great advice, fast, and well-priced. I used an Evolis Primacy, and the system was set up to read the card number of the card which was printed, and feed it back in to AD and various other systems for full integration (ask me more if you're interested on what I had set up). The caddy could handle a good stack of cards, so could be left churning away on the new intakes.
robk Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I can second Digital ID as a good supplier, had several printers from them over the years!
localzuk Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I used Evolis Primacy machines in my last place. And we have an Evolis Zenius here. Reliable machines! Can't comment on the software though - in both places, we used custom software.
PotNoodleTech Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I've got Evolis primacy here and the machines are OK but the software is pretty garbage not easy to use for NON IT peeps. I wouldnt buy another one.
Simcfc73 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I've got the EasyBadge 3.0 from DigitalID printer with the Easybadge software. Never had any issues and the quality is fine.
FragglePete Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Datacard SD260 card printer here - had it quite a few years now and chugs along quite nicely. We generate our templates in things like InDesign and mail merge, along with a photoshop template we use. No fancy card printing software in use. Pete
