Printing cost and cost for paper

Hello we are look at costing for printing and cost for paper

 

we are look to see if we are pricing the print jobs at the right price

 

and the paper as well

 

just want look at other school to see what they are doing

You should be able to look at your print lease to work out per page print costs - add that to the cost per sheet of paper and you then have your actual cost.

 

Each school does it differently so depends if you want to use your actual click cost price as above, or add staff time on and other associated on costs such as equipment leasing costs etc.

We are, I think, currently paying £22.82 for a box (i.e. 5 reams, 5 * 500 pages = 2,500 pages) of A4. That includes delivery and VAT, and is for recycled, uncoated / unbleached paper, which I seem to remember being around a half-as-much-again premium over standard A4 paper.

Wow! I wish we had the funds to spend £4.50 a ream.

Paper prices have shot right up, I bought my first box of 5 reams for home in a number of years recently and what used to be £10 a box is now £25 or there abouts for just plain standard A4 paper no recycled or any of that other stuff. I wanted one of the more premium papers but prices were silly.

 

To work out your cost per page is paper, cost per copy for print, lease, electricity, and if you wanted to include any engineer time in that. Obviously if you do double sided you only need to include your cost per copy rather than everything else then double your costs for A3 and you need to factor mono and colour costs.

 

I need to review my prices now I've added our printers onto our PaperCut which need to be higher costs than the copiers but its one of them jobs I keep putting off. If you are including printers you need to factor in things like drums and any mainteannce kids. Cartridge Save is a good website to use to get costings and the various things give page counts to enable you to do the calculations.

Depends how many you buy at one time. It’s no unknown for trusts to buy it by the truck load.

Also depends on how much storage you have. We're a single, medium/large secondary, but we've got a enough paper storage that if we run it down to near empty we can buy 2 pallet-loads of paper at once (maybe 3 if it works out we can get A3 and A4 at the same time).

We're paying 2.35 ex VAT per ream on a call off order of around 2,000 reams.

 

Printing on main MFD's is 0.0019p per B&W click and 0.015p per colour click, slightly more on desktop printers.

It's actually gone down to £1.99 per ream. And we're not buying truckloads. I last purchased 10 boxes of 5 just to be fair to the company delivering.

Your £1.99 is it recycled none white paper at probably 70gsm or is it white 80gsm paper?
