haci Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 The problem there is that without doing the Autumn update, you can't apply the new fileset needed for the census and I believe that has a deadline. Have you had confirmation that 2901 is required? information I've seen states 2805 is all that's needed. Deadline for workforce census is 6/12/24
HarryMonkey Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 (edited) I was told by a BM at one of my schools that that fileset was required. May just have been a bit of overreaction on her part. Edited November 25, 2024 by HarryMonkey
Space_Munkey Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Okay.. so embarrassingly It seems I cannot read or just read what I wanted to read at the time... I've double checked the email that I was sent and it does actually say that the patch is only working for the summer release!! It will not work going into the Autumn release and a new patch will be needed.
coolhands Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Release a patch but make sure it doesn't work with the Autumn release 1
haci Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Looks like there is a new patch for us today. Patch 20352 it doesn't explicitly state its for the autumn version but if you have updated would be worth installing and seeing if it makes any difference, I'll hold of on the update till I know more though I think.

Space_Munkey Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I've just requested and had released to us the latest patch (30352). Information given along with it was as follows: Please be advised that patch 30352 will still need to be applied after the Autumn update has been run to permanently resolve the issue. Please note, these patches are designed to primarily address issues that result in a deadlock error presenting within the SIMS user application. Sites may continue to see deadlocks occurring within the SQL database when running deadlock reports via SQL Management Studio, however this is considered to be expected behaviour. Your case is linked to a Major Case record for this issue which has now been closed. Should you continue to experience issues with deadlocks occurring within SIMS following the application of the patch please raise a new case with the service desk for assistance and further investigation as the root cause will differ from that encompassed by this Major Case. I'll be deploying the patch tonight, so hopefully this will be the end of this deadlock issue. Will know by the end of the week. 1
broadld Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Has anyone applied Patch 20352 yet and has it improved the lockouts?
broadld Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 I'm applying patch 30352 tonight. If you can let me know if this improves the deadlocks that would be great. 1
Space_Munkey Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 (edited) So it's been a week since deployment and pleased to say it has been quiet. No reports of sims crashing to desktop or errors. We did have a sync cause our entire server to crap the bed for 20 mins the day following the patch, but I'm confident this was unrelated I would say it's good! (for now... ) Edited December 6, 2024 by Space_Munkey 2
