  1. Looking at the DB version I'd say that is only for the Autumn release....
  2. Seen that error once so far this year. Got the user to re-boot the workstation & the report ran fine. Could be word or excel open in the background.
  3. yes, something in the Spring update broke it, there is now a patch out to fix it....
  4. Have you got UDF's in the template with apostrophe's? That appears to be the issue....
  5. Best off renaming the SIMS.net folder to SIMS.old and re-installing.....
  6. To add to this, I would say that when I worked in a secondary, which is a good decade a go, unless someone in senior management was driving a project & making sure that people who were not buying in to change were chased up & pushed, there would always be some level of failure.
  7. I think you will find that Capita support for SQL with stop with 2016. I believe that there is talk of them making SIMS support native SQL 2016 rather than setting a compatibility mode. I also think there is talk of not supporting office 2019 either, this being that last version to be an installable. This in view of the fact that the fabled SIMS primary will actually be available and usable before MS support for SQL 2016 & Office 2019 run out.
  8. A work around may be to make the changes through the school diary, if possible. I've encountered issues at several schools in the past where I was unable to edit the academic year. This was the method I used to get round it....
  9. Not a Reach2 Academy are you? I've not used Integris, but did look at a demo at BETT. It looked ok. I'm told by a colleague at another authority that the reporting wasn't to his liking. He also found the migration process from SIMS a little hard going.
  10. I would advise holding off on the migration SQL 2014. There appears to be a speed issue once you migrate, so it has been reported by some L.A.'s...... Some people have had some success by changing the compatibility in management studio back down to SQL 2012, others have not. At software update in London last Thursday Jeremy did say developers and a software architect are looking into it at present.
