HP 255 G8 Intel RST VMO Contoller Driver

Hi all,

 

I have several HP 255 G8 laptop models, but can't backup as an image yet as its looking for Intel RST VMO Contoller Driver, struggling to locate, if anyne can assist please.

Have you still got an "untouched" one? I normally allow any new model to setup as a standalone and then back up the drivers.

The HP support assistant is great with drivers and firmware, I tend to build a reference machine, update and use HP Support assistant, then backup the drivers.

Thanks for the responses. Yes good point about an untouched one. As for support assist, its ot picking up any updates or drivers to install.

Thats a shame, It can be a bit funny with OS versions as well, but the untouched one is the way to go.

Have you looked in (system Information) msinfo32.exe /components / problem devices to get the exact details of the missing driver (PNP Device ID)?

 

Have you tried searching on HP using one of the serial numbers of the affected laptops as you probably won't find it just on HP 255 G8 as the range is too big?

 

Have you tried downloading it directly from Intel?

Thanks all, it wasn't a Intel RST VMO Contoller Driver after all !!! Sorry. The laptops are AMD !!! Apparently the laptops were shipped as Windows 11 Home. Anyway, installed Windows 11 Pro but was having problems with creating the image. Was using Macrium, software that I really like and use often, but upon trying to do the backup, it wasn't picking up the drives of the laptop. It was assigning C Drive to the bootable USB. Ive come across this before some time ago, but couldn't remember how i got around it. Maybe the version of Macrium I was using is out of date. Anyway, I tried Iperius backup software and it worked, so I just went with that.

I was going to use Macrium to convert a bootable USB to ISO the other day and found out it's no longer free. How inconsiderate! ImgBurn to the rescue.
