apoth0r Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Had this going on for weeks if im honest. Didnt want to make a fuss coz you know what regional broadband is like. Other websites load really quick but im waiting about 10 seconds for a refresh on Edugeek.net T'isn't a moan! Love you guys
ZeroHour Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Yeh there have been spots of outage today when I have been restarting things with more tweaks. Generally I am finding the first fresh visit takes a bit to load (10 sec before page starts loading) but after its quite quick. Similar?
witch Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Nope - fraid not, or at least not at busy times. Lunchtime today was really really really slow, in fact I gave up and went and did some work
leco Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Lunchtime today was really really really slow, in fact I gave up and went and did some work Me too, I even had time to eat my lunch :-) 1
kmount Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Yeah, seems even slower Shaun. I wonder though, still being indexed pretty quickly, worth telling the robots to go away for a little while to see if that helps? EDIT: Submitted that quickly and does seem a bit nippier now!
elsiegee40 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 At this point in time it's pretty quick... however about 4pm I couldn't get in at all
SYNACK Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 It is as quick as it has ever been for me at this point but did slow down to a crawl when there were lots of people on last night. 1
EduTech Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I say it is fine during this time, as i bet everyone has gone to sleep! In the day time i do strungle, sometimes i just give up and try again later which tends to be when i get home, or after 5pm when no one is using our broadband a majority of people are on their way home too. James. 1
Fuzzz Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 The site is fast again! I hope it stays this way... Great site BTW!! 1
apoth0r Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Yeah seems a lot speedier today, dunno whether it's us or you but wh00p 1
ZeroHour Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 We are starting to get closer to peak time now. Hows things now?
elsiegee40 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Good at the moment; a little slow on the inital load, but fine now I'm thread-hopping. 1
kmount Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Not good here; general thread loading taking a while. EDIT: And then it's fine! Ignore me 1
ZeroHour Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Tweaked another setting again now so we will see how it goes.
kmount Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Unpredictable, sometimes very quick to load, other times not so.
EduTech Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Sometimes it's pretty fast, other times it can be slow... Better then yesterday though! James.
Gonk Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I'm having touble getting the site to load here now too It just took a minute to load this thread Trace attached Ross
ZeroHour Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I have done another round of tweaks and maintence last night and also did some load testing. I am thinking this is pretty much as good as it gets for now. There is only a couple more things I can do without us getting another server and those things wont drastically boost performance I think. Hopefully it will be better today. 3
plexer Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 It's fantastic this morning we'll see how it goes later in the day. Ben
SYNACK Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 Great work ZH, this is the fastest the site has ever been for me in school or at home. It is actually now useable inside our network without lag rage. There are currently at 476 users online and is still responcive and renders fast and clean even on this old IE6 test box. Thanks for all your time and effort in optimizing the site for us all. 1
plexer Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Have to say I haven't noticed any issues today and so far no duplicaten postings from me. Ben 1
ZeroHour Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Thank heavens its working well over the lunch I still have a few things to go in that will make minor improvements but as long as the big settings are working well (apache/php/mysql etc) then its good. 1
