mburland Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 School bought a load of Clevertouch boards. More expensive than rival offerings, but I'm usually happy to pay extra for quality... As internet connected devices running Android, my assumption was that we would be able to enroll them into Intune. Nope. Clevertouch are keen to point out they have their own MDM - and it's free! Great! Let's try that. Device enrolled, let's check for the "Update Device" option. Nope. How do you keep your Clevertouch boards updated? 1
3s-gtech Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Mine stay off the wifi. Much reduced security risk! Not even thought about MDM for them.
smurfomatic Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 We bought eight of them about six months ago, as far as I'm aware there's no way to update them remotely - unless you can create and deploy a script. Not sure as haven't had time to investigate further. Clevertouch support are a bit hit and miss, but you may be able to get some information from them. whenever we've contacted them, classic first step is "Have you updated?" but they give us a download link for the latest firmware.
pete Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 I seem to recall Clevertouch banging on about their MDM at BETT pre-Pandemic (2019?). Bit disappointing if 5 years later it can't even deploy updates.
mburland Posted January 22, 2024 Author Posted January 22, 2024 That is disappointing! They are saying that the next update to the MDM will bring remote updating. So, for now, they're staying offline. 2
chazzy2501 Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 ha! I've always kept them offline and never use the built in features. I got a few as they're built well but as I tell every IWB seller, I don't want your crummy apps, out of date android and proprietary remote video software... bleh..
BenQ_Chris Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 Hi, I can only talk from a BenQ stand point. But our latest 04 series does support Intune. The Android in the RE04 will later this year be upgraded to Android 14 and on the RP04 to Android 15 at no additional cost. We also have our own MDM software (DMS) which is completely free which supports firmware updates, app updates and the ability to set auto app updates. DMS can operate in the 04 screens and screens dating back 4+ years. If you'd like to know anymore or if you have any questions, drop me a DM.
