I notice parentpay has changed some stuff when logged on (as admin) to their website. First annoyance - in upload history (People>History>Upload History, then there are tabs) which I like to look at it now says

 

Uploaded by: (G5W4rTN6uxGmxyNTTTU1ekUg9)

 

which is obviously crap. Anyone know how I can find out the name (it used to say the users name eg Joe Bloggs)? Wonder what other horrors await.

 

Secondly unrelated to the changes but anyway - I use windows task scheduler to run MISSync each morning (eg every day at 7am) which syncs with sims and uploads new pupils. In the upload history it only used to have an upload in the history if it actually made an upload ie if there were changes (new pupils / leavers). Now however it has an upload every single day even if there have been no changes. Why is this?

That username looks encrypted, and it probably wasn’t before, so they’ve forgotten to add the decryption to the PHP for that page. Easy fix if so. Good that they’re encrypting more data.

 

The next issue could also be affected by encryption, as it may be doing a compare between unencrypted and encrypted data, and can only compare them once uploaded. Can’t see a way around that.

They also broke Live Register balance transfers (from ParentPay to LiveRegister, LiveRegister > ParentPay still worked), which (as of ~13:30) should now be fixed, but just in case you get queries. Edited January 5, 2024 by pete
