On Wednesday we will have our next hand-over of 'The Key,' Where a massive key with a hideous lanyard is passed on. The current owner has to pick someone they deem worthy of the key and give a short speech as to why they deserve it. They then get a term to decide who to give it to and be bricking it about giving a speech.

I never knew 'lanyard' was a French thing. l'anyard?

The French word “lanière” translates to strap, and this was eventually adapted into “lanyard”.
