Mixed Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Hi all, We are looking to move to Sharepoint from our current on site file server, looking for recommendations for companies who can assist us through this process. Thanks, T

noelmm Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 We did this internally when we did the move a few years back. Doing it this way allowed us to work with staff and determine what data was actually needed and what was no longer in use. Anything not in use was archived to offline storage and anything still needed was moved across. This approach allowed us to move each department's data over one at a time into the custom subsites we created for the departments and apply very specific permissions. It wasn't a difficult process but it took a few months to work with the departments to determine what they actually needed rather than a blanket answer of everything needed to be transferred, once that was done it was fairly straight forward.
SmithR Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 We used a company called Burconix to help with the migration to SharePoint and make it as seamless as possible for Teachers and Students https://cloudconnect.burconix.com/ 1
Miscbrah Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 We used a company called Burconix to help with the migration to SharePoint and make it as seamless as possible for Teachers and Students https://cloudconnect.burconix.com/ We're also going to be going with Burconix following some preliminary work and pondering. Very knowledgeable and helpful folks. Variety of offerings and as little/as much DIY as you want, not pricey at all (for both the Cloud Connect licenses and any assistance.) Ideal really.
Chuckster Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Why pay when it can be done for free using the SharePoint Migration Tool. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/introducing-the-sharepoint-migration-tool
Jcx500 Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 Have used Burconix in the past , great Company
Oaktech Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Did it myself - for 3 schools. Sharepoint Migration Tool makes this an absolute doddle.
