OneDrive Desktop Shortcuts Duplicating

Hi All,

 

We have a issue at multiple sites where backed up OneDrive Desktop, Documents and Pictures have internet shortcuts which are duplicating and end up going into the thousands.

 

We have a script that removes the shortcuts and have disabled .lnk and .urls from being backed up however is there not a native solution?

Can't find anything administrative to sort it - but manually...

 

Three dots menu top right, Open Settings > Appearance, scroll down and turn off "Show Briefcase Icon on work profiles." Then restart Edge.

 

Delete all duplicate icons.

There is an issue with Edge if it’s below v118 creating multiple shortcuts with OneDrive. Not sure if it’s the same issue.

Its to do with the version of edge that bought in Work / Home profiles.

The issue has been fixed in a later version.

 

I'd make sure thats updated and then remove any shortcuts manually.

Caused me some headaches this, one user had 7,000 edge icons on the desktop...
