Hi all

Do you use any network monitoring software in your office on TV that shows all servers switches etc so you know of any issues beforehand

If so which do you reccomend?

There are lots of solutions out there, we use Mutiny (https://www.mutiny.com/downloads/) and pay £1 per monitored node under their educational pricing. We monitor 150 nodes and that covers all our switches, links, printers and servers etc. Its an annual cost, but has paid for itself several times over in alerting us to predicted disc failures in servers before they actually fell over. We've just added environmental monitors (expensive) as we're across site from the actual server rooms. We have it displayed on a TV in a browser using multiple tabs so we see the various status pages we've setup.

They do a fully functional version with 10 nodes (25 if you sign up to their newsletter) so you can have a good play with it...

They also do a physical appliance if you want. We went with the VMWare OVA option and hosted it on our on box. If you go with the ISO version, you need to put it on a DVD, it doesn't work from a USB for some reason.
