Hi all, We have noticed that several of our HP computers have been running very sluggishly recently. It is unclear if this is related to a recent update or a hardware issue, and because it is only affecting certain HP machines, it has been difficult to pinpoint the cause. Has anyone experienced a similar issue following recent updates? Any insights would be appreciated so we can identify the root cause. Thanks

Hi all, We’re currently using RealSmart to provision both Google and Active Directory (AD) accounts. We also have Entra set up, with AD accounts syncing to Entra for a small number of Entra joined devices (with the goal of having most devices joined by the end of the year). The main issue we’re facing is that users currently have two different passwords. We’d like to move to a unified password solution, especially considering that we expect to no longer need on-prem AD in the next few years. We’re a Google based school, so Microsoft Entra isn’t fully deployed just basic for Intune. Has anyone faced a similar situation or implemented a solution that worked well either in a previous role or currently? Thanks in advance.

Hi We are looking to migrate our on premises shared drives to the cloud shared drive Some staff use a softare on shared drive that is a EXE (flash based application) that links to pdf and videos etc How do you guys overcome that if you move to cloud shared drive? Can we run that via Google shared drive?

Hi all All our machines is currently on windows 11, but i have 1 machine where we have some softwares which we dont wish to lose so wondering if there is a route to upgrade this setup to windows 11? Maybe Windows LTSC to LTSB first then upgrade to win 11? Any ideas?

Hi all We have imac suite and each mac is linked to our QNAP drive where students save their logic files there. Issue we are having is students are deleting files and folders now and its impacting teachers when they locate to mark the files I have 1 queries 1) Can we restrict so they cant delete? its not linked to AD so not sure if this is possible? 2) Can we backup the Qnap to Redstor? So should students do delete its recoverable I do need to look at longer term solution for this setup as we move to cloud i do want to move away from NAS drive storage but my assumption is this was created so staff can access students work

Hi all We are looking to replace our DT laptops but we have also been assigned to get a CAD software. At present we have none. Options are solid works and Autocad so far - any others reccomended let me know Do these require server install or just client? ideally i am avoiding any server installs as we look to migrate to cloud Also what spec laptops would you reccoemnd for these? Hi all We have been deploying windows 11 to manchines and noticed few things that worked in windows 10 doesnt work in windows 11 1) Users unable to right click task bar 2) The icon on left tha shows weather, ftse, and when click shows news etc Anyone tried to remove the above via gpo? I have gone through gpo but just cant locate!

One PC reimage is OK but if this spreads to multiple PC then that is nightmare!

Strange we have same issues with very PC too. Its a windows 10 device though not 11! Our screeens all promethan though.

Hi all I have been assigned task to sort out a internet failover as move to the cloud. The issue we have is we use fortinet for our firewall/filtering We have LGFL internet connected to the firewall we also have a virgin line (no idea why previous IT chose virgin when lgfl is virgin too!) But LGFL needs its own DNS in firewall/DNS server and if we go via BT or virgin they would need 8.8.8.8 So it will have to be a manual change on firewall and the dns server and by time they all change over there woudve been some down time. We want this seamless so users wont notice ideally! Has anyone encountered this and setup a failover with LGFL? I know LGFL are bringing in community fibre but not sure that will help if LGFLs network goes down both lines would be down unless they complelety separate system, separate building etc

Hi all can we create account in gsuite in a OU where the user can log in to chomebook but has no internet? need account for exams where they can use doc only and no internet but need internet to login to device so not sure if this is possible? thanks

We found culprit, purchased daisy disk and its shwoing 140gb is used by Users directory What is best way to delete that all than manaual deleting? Is there way to stop it creating local profiles or delete on log off?

Hi all I have 30 imacs in our classroom at 256gb HD space The school uses Logic pro so it downloads around 90gb ish worth of sound files. What my issue is under storage manager under system settings its showing 150gb plus on all the macs. I am not able to delete or see where the space is taking. As result its having issues on students gcse and even downloading the remaining sound files. I have done factory reset of all the macs few weeks ago so this didnt help! Any ideas? thanks

What is backup retention all have at present? We have 365 days immutabiltiy. I am looking to reduce that to 3 months but wanted to know if there is a DFE guidelines on this? Thanks

Hi all We have factory reset one of our macs few weeks back, it has picked up some settings from JAMF as it used same name, and seemed tojoined our school network ok. JAMF also says enrolled time as correct. But the softwares doesnt seem to be installed ok, as the docker has ? marks on them. How can i push the apps again via jamf?

Hi We had a mac issue so we reinstalled the OS via recovery mode. It added to the JAMF system after reinstall no issues and can see it too But we are unable to log in via the AD logins. Is there a step we need to take to get AD logins to work? i thought this wouldve been part of JAMF but dont seem to be Thanks

Hi all We have chromebook wifi password which our old IT guy put on nunmerous staf phones etc I want to reverse that. I dont wish ti change password. In DHCP i can see which phones or devices that are not chromebooks. Does right click those phones and change filter profile to deny stop them getting ip address? As i have tried this, and the devices still seems tobe getting ip address. I have tried my phone, change lease to 1 min to try and after min i still get dhcp ip and internet so the deny does nothing. Any ideas? Thanks
