VB Scrips and mapped drives

I use a VB sript to map drives at logon amongst other things and generally it works flawlessly, occasionally if the logon takes longer than expected and the profile is still loading when the script runs the drives fail to map. I'm sure it's due to this as if a put a pause in the script it works every time. The problem with this is that on faster machines the students are logged on with no mapped drives for a while.

 

Anyone else here have this issue?

 

Any way to make a script pause untill the profile is loaded?

Ahh just noticed the Run logon scripts synchronously setting, i'll have a play with that,

We sometimes have this issue with the staff logons. Not found a cure, but as a workaround i put a shortcut on the staff desktops (pointing to the logon script) and tell them to run it if they don't have all their drives after logging on.

we used to have this problem to until i ticked

 

Computer configuration > Administrative Templates > System > logon >

 

"Always wait for the network at computer start up and logon"

 

It slows you logon down by a few seconds but stops the problem.

Already have the "Always wait for the network at computer start up and logon" policy set.

 

The Run logon scripts synchronously setting seem to be working it's running every time now.
