You can make him a local admin on the 2 machines. NTFS permissions will still protect the network. As for changing passwords, that can be done by giving him a custom MMC and delegating permissions for him in AD.

Right-click on the OU and Delegate Control is your top option. Be sure this is what you want to do though. It sounds simple, but teachers have a way of destroying networks:doh:

We use Sysaid by Ilient. Each member of staff has a user ID on there and they email the issues to us. We in turn decide which should have priority. If anyone has a problem while i'm not at my desk, i get an email from the system to let me know about when i return. Any updates to the jobs are automatically emailed out to the member of staff who requested the work done:cool:

Do you use a proxy connection? If so have you tried putting the ip addy of the access points in your browser exceptions?

Depends on the severity, but we range from banning internet access to an outright ban from the network. The student then has to go see their head of year or head of the dept they were abusing to have access restored. The cost of any physical damage to equipment is passed along to the parents:cool:

I feel very underpaid...i took this job almost 10 years ago, with a 'pay award pending' and it's still pending. Still on scale 2, even though the network has increased in size by a factor of 10!!!!!

Can you get it to boot into safe mode? If so try checking device manager for any problem devices. BSOD is often caused by old/no drivers. I always install SP3 asap, and leave out IE7 (it still causes problems in certain areas).

Impero has the ability to do what you're asking. If your budget will stretch to it, it's a very useful bit of software.

Considering the price of the product, and it's stability or lack there of, yes they should. Somehow i can't see it happening though, they'd need a lot more poeple with much more talent.

We sometimes have this issue with the staff logons. Not found a cure, but as a workaround i put a shortcut on the staff desktops (pointing to the logon script) and tell them to run it if they don't have all their drives after logging on.
